A beautiful mansion that featured in BBC's Pride and Prejudice has been put on the market for £6 million. The huge house was used as the Bennet's family home in the TV drama which aired in 1995.

Starring Colin Firth as Mr Darcy and Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennet, the six-part BBC One series was an adaptation of Jane Austen's 1813 novel of the same name, and went on to win a BAFTA.

Set during the early 19 th century, the BBC used 24 filming locations across the UK with most of them owned by the National Trust. One of the main sets used was Luckington Court which served as the home of Elizabeth Bennet and her family.

The entire estate in Cotswold village of Luckington, Wiltshire can now be bought for a whopping £6 million by any wealthy Pride and Prejudice fan.

The recently renovated eight-bedroom manor sits amongst 156 acres of sprawling countryside, with springs running down to the River Avon.

The Grade II-listed Luckington Court

Inside the Grade II-listed mansion boasts eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms, as well as lavish amenities like a piano room, music room, cellar, bright high ceilings and traditionally decorated living and dining areas.

According to the listing on Rightmove, the property still has its original Tudor features with 16 th century remodelling.

Although it doesn't come with your very own Mr Darcy, the Cotswold stone built property is surrounded by beautifully manicured lawns.

The estate also has an equestrian facility with its own outdoor riding school and farm buildings, as well as a 17th century dovecote and almost 19 acres of permanent grassland.

There are also five separate cottages included in the price; Rose Garden Cottage, the Coach House, the Courtyard, the Studio and the Court Farm Cottage – four of which are on assured shorthold tenancies.

Outside in the magnificent gardens there is even a wild orchard filled with wild apple and cherry trees.

The gorgeous grounds

According to local history, the surrounding area was on the site of a manor owned by King Harold II before his death at the Battle of Hastings in 1066.

In 2018, the estate was put up for sale for the first time in 70 years, for a higher guide price of £9 million.

The role of Mr Darcy elevated Colin Firth to stardom., with a scene showing Firth in a wet shirt was recognised as "one of the most unforgettable moments in British TV history".
